With a view to encourage the instution’s efforts to promote women’s education since 1984, Mr Khattar announced a sum of Rs 1 crore from his fund, of which Rs 50 lakh would be made available during this financial year and the rest would be made available during the next financial year. The Haryana government implemented the programme under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi in an effective manner and everyone should contribute towards this effort, he said.The CM was speaking as the chief guest during the 28th annual function of the Roj weft feeder Gujjar Kanya Gurukul Sansthan at Deodhar in Yamunanagar district on Sunday.

Accepting the institution’s demand for 24-hour power supply, the chief minister said that this would be done by connecting the villages surrounding the institute to a separate special feeder under the "Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon" scheme of the state government. The chief minister said that the quality-oriented education should be imparted to children, which would instill the feeling of patriotism in them. Presiding over the function, Haryana Assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal announced a sum of Rs 11 lakh for the Gujjar Kanya Gurukul Sansthan from his fund for the promotion of education. He planted a sapling in the courtyard of the institution and laid the foundation stones of "Vigyan Bhavan" and women’s hostel "Yash-oda Bhavan".
